Last weekend more than 2,000 volunteers attended a “cleaning” activity promoted by the King of Thailand “to restore the beauty” of the Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai, the Government reported through Thai News.

After the episode in which 12 children from a soccer team and their coach were stranded inside one of the caves on June 23, the government decided to transform the cave into a museum to show the event that moved and mobilized the international community. And for this, an activity was carried out that aimed to restore the landscape of the cave and the area around the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non National Park, in the Mae Sai district.

"This area will become a living museum to show how the operation unfolded," said the head of the rescue mission, Narongsak Osottanakorn, at a press conference.

We do things right with the heart”Was the motto of the initiative for the cleaning call of the monarch Maha Vajiralongkorn.

Part of the task is to clean and improve the landscape, in front of and within the Tham Luang cave. Another group must help restore the natural environment at Pha Mee and Kiew Khor Nang, where rescuers had built dikes to divert water from the cave. Also in the Sai Thong cave, where several holes were dug to drain the water, an attempt is made to restore and improve the place.

The levees were removed to restore the same natural ecosystem "says the report.

Three temples where troops had slept during the rescue operation will also be cleaned. Complete restoration of the interior and exterior natural landscape is expected to take at least two days.
